Mike Holder has over 29 years of experience in local government. He began his career with the Dallas Police Department in 1988 and was appointed as the Colleyville Chief of Police in October 2011. Mike was promoted to City Manager in April 2023. Mike was originally hired as Assistant City Manager/Director of Public Safety in June 2015, providing oversight to the Parks Department and Information Services as well as Public Safety Operations. He previously served as the Chief of Police in Kaufman, Texas from 2008 - 2011. Chief Holder holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Relations & Business from Amberton University. He is a graduate of the Institute for Law Enforcement Administration Management College and the Senior Management Institute for Police. He is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF), the Texas Police Chiefs Association and is the Immediate Past President of the North Texas Police Chiefs Association. Mike previously served on the Legislative Committee of the North Texas Crime Commission, the Advisory Board of the Center for Criminal Justice Research and Training located at the University of Texas at Arlington as well as the Executive Board of the Alliance for Children of Tarrant County.
Mike is married to Shana who is a teacher for Kaufman ISD and they have three grown children.
