The Patrol Division is the largest and most visible unit within the Police Department. Patrol operates 24 hours a day, every day of the year. They are the officers seen patrolling your neighborhoods and are the first to respond to most calls for police service. The Patrol Division is dedicated to maintaining public order and safeguarding the individual and constitutional rights of all persons.

The Patrol Division is made up of 4 Patrol Sergeants and 9 Police Officers. All Dispatch duties are handled by the Kaufman County Regional Communications Center. To file a report call 469-376-4500.

POLICE OFFICER CANDIDATES MUST PRINT AND COMPLETE AN APPLICATION, PERSONAL HISTORY STATEMENT, AND AUTHORITY TO RELEASE INFORMATION FORM IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED. A complete Police Department Application packet can be found here.

Police Department Applications can be mailed to the attention of Human Resources at P.O. Box 1168, Kaufman, TX 75142, or submitted in person at 209 S. Washington St. E-mailed photographs of completed applications cannot be accepted.
