About the Commission

This is an advisory body and adjunct to the City Council, and makes recommendations regarding amendments to the Comprehensive Plan, changes in zoning of both current and newly annexed areas, and makes recommendations regarding the approval of plats of subdivisions as may be submitted to it for review and other planning related matters. Members also review proposed changed to the zoning ordinance.

Purpose

The purpose of this commission is to plan and oversee the implementation of the City's Comprehensive Plan. They achieve this through the zoning ordinance and subdivision regulations.
